if you want to close the forum, then just delete the entire forum directory...

Many thanks, Kindred and everyone else. I've wiped every directory I could find in the Admin section's settings and Saved the wipe, so I hope the Forum is now history. You've all be wonderfully helpful, and I'm only sorry my know-how wasn't up to following your advice. Some other time, maybe . . . . .

Delete all forum files using a file manager or ftp

But deleting means everything is gone, members, posts, accounts

So there will be nothing there

If your forum is new with no real members and posts yet

Delete and re install it
