I'm not sure why people so focused on beta releases while it means nothing and gets old when new commit pushed. What people should be looking at the commit history or PRs or issues (https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF2.1/commits/release-2.1). We are working on the software continuously.

Yes 2.0.14 is on prio.

Beta3 is now 100% complete: https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF2.1/milestones
Does that mean that it is finished and no issue will be added??

Yeah, the outstanding issue was reclassified for later, so it still needs to be done.

Discussion around future 2.1 releases has been moved to a more suitable place: https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=545237.0.  Please continue such discussion there and not here.

Do we have a contribution guide somewhere besides git issues list? What those looking to help could do, what is expected for 2.1 since it's not 3.0 yet, etc. Been reading a few topics and still didn't find anything of the sort.

That RC list is not maintained.   Items should be closed, but nobody looks at it.  Seems like folks work on everything BUT that list...

Nothing on that list should hold up a release.

Well still that page links to the milestones which requires prio attention :P

Gwenwyfar

I guess not, then. But that helps too, thanks :)

Agreed - that that is how it should be used.

The thing here, SMF can't ask people (outside) to focus on milestones, on the other hand any contribution is better than none so if someone wants to work on non-milestoned issue its fine by everyone :P (Win-win).

Why can't it say 'we'd appreciate any help to the items in [milestone]'? Provide a focus if nothing else.

I hardly think SMF has that luxury.

Arantor

And the appearance of no direction whatsoever discourages people who might help out. :(

I'll work on sorting out some of the milestones after we get Beta 3 out.

Thanks Colin.  That will be helpful.

Is Beta 3 the priority now? Or are you guys working on 2.0.15 to fix the remaining issues (ssi logins, etc)

Colin

Beta 3 will be out next then 2.0.15.
