Found this up top in index.template.php, but the description given is cryptic at best.

/* What is your Lollipop's color?
Theme Authors you can change here to make sure your theme's main color got visible on tab */
echo '
<meta name="theme-color" content="#557EA0">';

What is "got visible on tab" supposed to mean?

Oh cool, so we can torture anyone on Android by setting a really gruesome colour. I approve.

Yes sir. :P

Antechinus

It might be a good idea to change the description so that anyone can easily tell what it's doing. In English, it makes absolutely no sense at the moment. :P

Oldiesmann

Well, Lollipop is a version of Android, so it does make some sense in that context :P

Yes, it makes some sense. It could easily make more sense. :P

Ok, just as a totally radical off-the-wall suggestion, how about changing the comment to use something like the headline of that article Antes linked to?

// Support theme-color for Chrome 39+/Android Lollipop.
// Set your theme's custom color for the top toolbar.
echo '
<meta name="theme-color" content="#557EA0">';

// Oh yeah and kittenz are awesome. Just sayin'. :P

// Ducks are evil. So are geese. Should be a law against them.
