Another conversion. Help needed, phpbb 3.0.11 to SMF 2.0

How should I go about this? Should I install a new fresh SMF forum and then use the convertor file to upload all the old threads to the new SMF board? I could use some help on the proper path to do this. I have read many threads around here but it all seems to get confusing. Im not really a php guy. Is there someone I could pay for help, possibly?

First you need to read this

So:
install SMF in the same server, same or different database, different folder
pick the correct converter, load it to SMF's folder, then run it via browser.
