However, DISTRIBUTION of said bridge violates the GPL, which is why we do not have officially supported bridges for a number of softwares (and why the joomla bridge was discontinued)

Well, GPL is the stupidest license out there... it tries to be viral and FORCE everything else that touches GPL code to also be GPL.

now, please note, that statement was written in 2010 -- at which time SMF was in the 1.1.x release -- which has a different license than 2.0.x and 2.1. The GPL was not compatible with the 1.1.x license. 
Since the SMF 1.1.x license was not compatible (e.g., it would not allow itself to be infected), there could be no code shared between the scripts as a distributable product. This was the same issue with the Joomla bridge.
While I still dislike the GPL, the BSD license, which is what 2.0.x and 2.1 have been released under, IS at least semi-compatible with it -- and, while the SMF code should not be reproduced in a GPL product, it can be linked to such, so long as the BSD license terms are met.

I use osDate if no bridges file for osDate, then SMF is worthless to me.

well, this thread was about a bridge for megento e-commerce and has nothing at all to do with OSDate.

As for a bridge... you will have to ask over on the OSDate support site.

Halo Kindred, there Bridges for phpBB, MyBB and a few others, but I would like to use SMF, and wanted to ask if there a file there for osDate.
I will then have to use MyBB or phpBB.

There is no bridge.

We don't do official bridges at this time...  We don't have the developers or interest to do it or support them at this time.   So, you'll have to ask over on the osdate site...
