Local path to SMF???

When trying to install mod packages, I encountered a problem - it just didn't work.
The only field I wasn't sure of was 'Local path to SMF', so I decided to test it.
I went to "File Permissions" and tried to make some changes, with no luck.

The thing is: I have a VPS and the public domain redirects to /var/www/html <- This is the directory where smf is installed.
I tried every possible combination, with and without the /, and none of them worked.
What am I supposed to put in that field?

why do you believe you need to change file/folder permissions? if you have a VPS you should change the file/folder permissions with ftp/ssh rather then use the function in SMF.

Ohhh I didn't realize I could see which files I need to set permission to.
Thanks
