Database error after large upgrade

Greetings all, i decided to upgrade my forum from 2.01 to 2.1 and i made use of the large upgrade and everything seems to work well.

few minutes ago i decided to install the first mod  and i went to Package Manager and under Browse Packages i saw this error

MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/seeker/public_html/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 479

what should i do please

why did you upgrade to SMF 2.1? SMF 2.1 is in beta and should not be used in a live environment at this time.

it should have being stated that one should not use it on a live forum so one would not be misled , all what was stated there is that IT SHOULD NOT BE USE ON A PRODUCTION FORUM

they are the same exact thing. also it is in beta, most know not to use beta software unless they know what they are doing.

okay thanks alot , let e try and revert back to 2.0.11

unless you have a backup, that is not possible.

although a have a backup i did before the upgrade just for situation like this. but without a backup i was thinking downloading the large update 2.011 would work

there are database changes that would need to be reverted. we dont support that, so if you dont have a database backup at minimum you are out of luck.
