Topic: MyBB 1.8.4 to SMF

Hey guys

What converter should I use to convert my forum (users, password and such) to SMF?
Would the converter convert all users, passwords, forum posts and so forth?

If im correct it should all be on your database. i once had to reinstall my forum and i just used my same database as before and i still had everything from the posts but converting you might have no way to convert it unless you repost what you did using the user accounts on the previous forum.

@avguste, there isn't yet a converter for MyBB 1.8. It's on my to-do list but I wasn't yet able to finish it...

Avguste, this is how I'm planning on doing this:

1. Install mybb 1.4
2. Merge 1.8 to 1.4
3. Convert to smf 2
4. Upgrade smf

Also looking to switch from mybb 1.8 to the latest smf. Anyone achieved this or are we all hoping that a newer converter is put together? Whoever can put one together, this would be gratefully received. Thank you

2. Merge 1.8 to 1.4
3. Convert to smf 2
4. Upgrade smf

Did this work? When I asked on MyBB they said that there was no 1.4 merge tool anymore and that you couldn't downgrade. I would really appreciate more detail!
