smflogo

Hi, I have a banner I'm using on my site called smflogo.gif, also on the server > default theme > images I have another smflogo banner which is in png format, my question is what file do I need to edit to get the png file up in place of the gif file, now I'm useless at coding so I need a step by step guide lol, I'm using SMF 2.0.11 on default theme curve, any help much appreciated.
