I have a small private board of no more than 15 people. They post occasionally. When they do, how can all members be notified when there is a new post?

Hello!

I suppose you're using SMF 2.0.x, this is support board for SMF 2.1.x. Anyway, go to Admin > Forum > Member Options, under the theme you are using, choose : Change current options for all members using this theme -> Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic, change it and save. That would do the trick.

Regards :)

that does not set boards to be on watch though, that has to be done manually.

Oops, my bad. I don't know why I thought that would notify all new posts...

Sorry about that.

Thanks to all.

To recap:

1. You can set the "Announce Topic" option for regular members of a particular board like this (SMF 2.0.12 base theme):

Admin > Features and Options > Forum > Boards > Modify Boards > "Permissions" for a selected board > "Modify" for regular members > Moderate the Board > Announce Topic.

When you do that, when regular members add a new post, they can select > Attachments and Other Options > Announce Topic. See attached graphic: announce.jpg

2. If desired they can also select "Notify me of replies" as usual.
