@rjen

In my current forum I have the bbc tag [ move] for 'moving'  text. I am sure I did not add this myself, but it is not there in 2.1 anymore and I can also not find it here...

Wondering what happened to it? I am using it for announcements and it is quite usefull to draw attention. Has it been removed?

I believe that it has indeed been removed, along with the "glow" and "shadow"

Can't use

tags either by the look of it. Shame because I use this a lot for displaying random ads in the News System. :(

Unless this has been fixed in a later build, mine's a few months old on my 2.1 testsite.

that's actually a bug...

the HTML BBC is not removed... but there is apparently an error that chokes it and removed the entire thing during a post.

Thanks.  I was hoping you'd say that.  ;)

Can some one tell me the rationale behind this decision?

Bear in mind: I can live without it, but I do not understand why this standard feature has been removed, especially since it was quite usefull. I can understand not all forums want the Marquee text, but then it was easily switched off. Unless there is a technical reason not to have it anymore?

I am creating a wysiwyg editor for the new SMF 2.1. so SMF has its own dedicated editor and not some 3rd party all in one solution. I was told these buttons are rarely used in posts by members but they were used a lot on my own forums. So I will be sure to add these buttons to the finished mod.

You can view the current development progress @

Had a lil break over the xmas holidays will be resuming soon :D.

My idea was to create it without having the need to use jquery as I don't want jquery on my forums, and be compatible with all browsers except anything below IE9.

If anyone would like to contribute fork and request :D.
