I have posted this under customizing code, but think that might be the wrong spot.

I will go back there and delete that post if I get responces here, so duplicate threads do not develop.

When I install SMF 2.0.13

I lost my Global Headers and Footers, and my embedded video player .

They show up as installed but they do not appear in the forum

For the life of me I cannot remember where the code goes?

Can someone point me to a "download and install mod for dummies" link

Where, what option, do I look at in the admin section of the forum to modify the code?

Try running fix_packages.php.  If you do a clean install, all mods are removed, but they leave some stuff in the database.  You'll have to reinstall the mods from scratch.

Did you patch to 2.0.13 or upload clean set of files?

It would not install as a clean set of files, I had to patch it.

What I would like to do is uninstall the three mods I have and reinstall them, but I cannot remember how to do it.

new VERY simple steps to the process please.

I think from now on I will not install updates, just leave it alone

If you patched to .13, mods should not be affected.  How far did you get trying to install clean files?  Why did it fail?

There was no failure, it just did not put the files out.

Illori

how do you know the files did not get "put out" ?

in the support information the forum version showed up as 2.0.12

I think the best bet is to uninstall the three mods I have and then reinstall them.

Where can I find the mod install manual?

It's not clear what you've done.  Did you try to upload the 2.0.13 Full Install or Large Upgrade package using ftp or cpanel file manager before patching from .12 to .13?
