I am try to remove a post and keep getting this:

"You are not allowed to delete the first post in a topic.
If you want to delete this topic, click on the Remove Topic link, or ask a moderator/administrator to do it for you."

If I click on remove Topic Link does that remove the whole thread -- which I do not want I just want to remove the first post in that topic.

As an Admin is there any other options???

Thanks for any help.

You cannot remove the first post.  If you remove the topic, the entire thread is deleted.  If it's any help, you can edit the first post and remove the text and just leave a message indicating why it was deleted.

Yes, clicking on the remove topic tab will remove the entire topic. You can remove any post in a topic by clicking the remove link in any post (other than the first post)

Look for Quote  Modify Remove  Split Topic tabs in the upper right hand corner of every post.

If for some reason you would like to remove the first post in a topic thread but want to keep the rest of the posts in that thread, you can press the split topic link in the very first post. Then you can choose all the posts you want split (all except the first topic post for example).

Once you split all the posts into a new topic (you can also then rename the topic or remove the "re:") you will then be able to remove just the original first post and keep all the others posted after it

Hey thanks!!!!!!  I use the split topic thing and it worked well.

You would think as Admin, you would be able to remove anything with just a click, but at least this did work.

Kindred

Even admins can not remove the first post of a thread...without deleting the entire thread,  for obvious reasons, if you think about it.
Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.
