Removing "News"

Hello,

I use SMF 2.0.13 and I'd like to remove up in the right corner "News" but I'd like that news text to stay on my SimplePortals ( http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/?mod=1104 ) addon as you can see more described on that image:

Okay, nevermind. I have fixed that.

But another thing I'd like to ask. How to change the "News:" on the right top of the forum to something else, for example I'd like to change it to "Status:" or to blank (nothing) instead of "News:". Image explains it better:
