Hello everybody

I moved my smf to a subdomain with SSL (Let's Encrypt).

Now there are strange effects. Could you have a look at it?

The paths are ok (tables settings and themes are up to date)

the following errors occurs:

- unsecure connection
- damaged theme
- everything is fine (secure connection with green symbol)
- everything is fine, but not secure and without green symbol

you can have a look at this screen cast (refreshing with Control + F5):

https://youtu.be/g4MnJc0vr5g

every theme and smf version are up to date

PHP Version 5.6.30.

I'm looking forward for any helpful tip. Thanks!

Best wishes,

SMF 2.0.12 is not "up to date". The current version is 2.0.13 and 2.0.14 will be released very soon.
I can't replicate the problem. It always works and shows SSL just fine.

How did you set this up? And when the certificate error appears, have you ever clicked the button to see more details as to *why* it believes the connection is insecure? It can give error codes and you can view the certificate itself. Those are mandatory details to try and analyse what's wrong in your (server) configuration.

Why did you MOVE the forum just to apply ssl?  Ssl could have been applied in the existing setup.
However, after moving it and adding ssl, did you run repair settings.php?

I'm assuming he just meant that he changed the links to a subdomain from just a normal directory. I don't think he moved servers just for SSL. He will need to clarify, however.

Hi, i moved it because php7.

I read this here:

2.0.13 does not run with PHP7.
2.0.14 should.
2.1.0 will.

my domain with php7 is so much better and I will not wait any longer. So I moved smf to subdomain with the older php version and I'm able to use php7 on the rest of my website.

Domain: php7
Subdomain with smf: php56

;-)

And I executed repair_settings.php

theme does not appear "damaged" to me...

and the warning appears in posts -- because people are using non-ssl avatars and BBC images -- and the version of SMF you are using does not have proxy images yet
