Study Force - Problem Solved is a global study community comprised of students and teachers helping each other understand how to solve problems for science, non-science, business, nursing, humanities, and mathematically-based subjects (e.g. physics, calculus, stats, chemistry, etc).

We provides access to various types of study material (e.g. textbook solutions, topic notes, sample problems, illustrations, practice exams) created by us, indexed from the web, or contributed by our members.

Our tools, content, and community empower students to push the limits of their learning capabilities.

Study Force - Problem Solved (formally Biology-Forums.com) launched in August 2010. As suggested by the original domain name, we started off with one topic in mind - Biology. As time progressed, we've responded to the demand of our users by expanding our boards to cover nearly every category. Since 2010, we've been helping students understand how to do their homework and be better prepared for their exams on over 4,000 schools from Miami to Seoul.

Brief list of customizations/modifications:

Nice work. You've obviously put a great deal of effort and time into this and it really shows. Well done!

Think you forgot to mention the portal mod in your list of modifications.  Also missing from the copyright.  ;)

Nicely done!

Thanks! I really like the header effect you have on http://www.samo-opusteno.info/forum/ Where did you get the idea?

Can't remember where exactly I saw similar effect, but I liked it and implemented similar on my forum a while ago. Thanks.

Biology Forums

It draws so much attention, I really like it. Was thinking of implementing something like that too

Sounds like a plan :)

I'm excited to announce that we've changed the mobile theme to match the main theme!

Been working on it for the past 3 days.

Try using the site with any mobile device :D

I wanted to go the fully responsive route, but I decided not to because I wanted to flexibility of editing files specific for the mobile theme (in case I wanted to do something outrageous later on).

If you're on a desktop, scroll to the bottom and click "Mobile".

Looking forward to some constructive criticism

Tested with a tablet, a fairly heavy mobile version, I propose to further optimize. Google loves light pages that are quickly loaded.

Thanks for the feedback.

Did you view a thread by any chance? Which page struck you as congested?

Is it possible to edit my post?

Correct the AdSense settings, when you scroll the window - its announcement runs into the layout of the footer.

Do you know a thing or two about Jquery?

Hi studyforce.
How did you go about using different themes for both mobile and pc?
Thanks!

Михаило

Did you buy this theme or you hired someone do make it?

There's a code that I implemented in Load.php. If you'd like I can PM it to you.

Almost 8 years in the making. Bit by bit, I got it this way. Anything in particular that stood out?

Awesome looking forum, well done.

May I ask how you created your blog? It's exactly what I am looking for!

It was add-on available here that I downloaded a while back, which I modified to my liking. I don't think it's available anymore.

I like your website too

Ah, nice. Do you still have a copy of the un-modified version that you would be willing to share?

Added a Top Poster's block!

Next addition will be to include a drop-down AJAX menu to select duration.

Nice again, although I'd add something else in the left sidebar, as it appears a bit empty right now, containing only that top posters block.

Re you site - looks good BUT my question is that as it has a wide range of topics, not just biology, I'd suggest the forum header / banner should be STUDY FORCE as opposed to biology forums.

Biology Forums

That's what it was for 5 months - I even changed the URL to studyforce.com - but I noticed several negative effects happened.

1. Our niche community based on biology quickly began to fade because, presumably, people didn't trust us as an authority to start bio-based discussions.
2. Our number 1 keyword: "biology forums" and "biology forum" stopped sending traffic to our forum. In fact, our competitor got everything we lost, and quite frankly they're no good anyway.
3. Since we've been around for >8 years, people were used to seeing biology-forums, and suddenly saw study force instead -- it bothered them to say the least, reducing our traffic too.

Now study force is a standalone course-based site, and the main name of our YouTube channel.

Wellwisher

How did you achieve the this pretty looking "time stamp" format aka, "posted one, one day ago, 10 years ago" in subject in forum index and subject list view?

Thanks @Shadav, looks like study force used this one. I will try them both, they are made by very credited authors.
