Moving forum to new website

Is it possible to move SMF 1.1.21 to another domain/host without FTP access?  I have downloaded the SQL backup of table structures and data, what else will I need?

the database backup in the admin panel may not be complete, you can try to move it to another host but if it is not complete you may not be able to make it work.

If I was able to gain ftp access are there instructions somewhere on how to move the forum?

you also need access to phpmyadmin so you can get a full backup of the database.

phpmyadmin will timeout without error on some hosts if you have a large database or slow server, leaving you with an incomplete backup.  Dump the db 2-3 times, check that file size is the same.  If your host control panel has a backup feature, that usually works best.
