How to update to latest version in your cpanel

I am using SMF 2.0.13  and I want to upgrade to 2.1, unfortunately, my site is showing database error in the homepage is there a way to upgrade to the latest version in the cpanel and how can I do this?

I am using 2.013 which an old version I want to upgrade to 2.014 because the current version I have right now shows error in my home page

Going to 2.0.14 won't fix your issue.

If you can't get to your smf error log.

Check your the smf error log table in the database and for look for the most recent entry that should tell you what is going on.
