My Filezilla upload of SM2 (from smf_2-0-14_upgrade) goes well but at the end I get a message saying 1 file did not upload. I don't expect that comparing the source window with more than a 1,000 files i many folders on the server is a good use of time.

When I try to see the installer I get the following error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ')' in /home/ghostlight/public_html/index.php on line 114

Does that give a clue? If someone from SM wants server access, I'd be glad to share it.

UPDATE and more information

I have confirmed that all files have been uploaded.

If it matters, my server is running PHP v 5.2.17 and MYSQL v 5.5.32? Is SM2 compatible with them?

SMF should be but php 5.2 is no longer supported and you should upgrade it to something that is supported.
