Hi, the forum has been running just fine since installed a few years ago. Recently, my hosting company moved my accounts to an "upgraded" server. Nothing was noticed as the forum continued to function okay until a couple of days ago where a new member tried to register online and got the message "An Error has occurred" with no explanation or reason given. The forum does allow the manual addition of members though.

Hi there.

Which version of SMF are you running?

Can you provide a link to your forum?

Are you an Administrator of the forum? If so...

- do you have any mods (modifications) installed? If so, which ones?

- are there any errors in your error log that may be related (please remove paths and IP addresses - only the filename, line number and error message are needed)

Hi,

Thanks for responding to me.

At first I was using v. 2.0.12 but have tried with v2.0.14 with the same results.

Yes I am an admin and there are no mods.

Here is the last few error log entries. I see there was an attempt by some spam bots to register.

Most of the errors show something similar to this
Today at 07:31:15 AM
c55e079dd0484118bddccf079379d8fe
Type of error: General

there are a couple that show this:

http://thecalabayparc.com/forum/index.php?action=register2 [nofollow]

Undefined index: ! <html><body BGCOLOR='#FFFFaa'>Anonymous hit limit reached for IP Address 141.101.99.112.<br>Why not get an <a href='/getkey.htm'>API key</a>? It's free, and it'll allow you to perform a larger number of bot-screening lookups each day.<br><strong>If you aren't the webmaster for this domain, please tell them about this error message.</strong><br></body></html>Apply Filter: Only show the errors from this file File: /home/thecalab/public_html/forum/Sources/Errors.php
Line: 187

Let me know if you need any other info.

I also have a problem when reprimanding me and the problem is with the login.
If I do it from the start page always the first time it indicates error, I have to perform the operation twice. The second always accepts it correctly.

The case is that if I log in from a subforum or topic always accept it the first time.

What can be the problem?

The SMF version is 2.0.14

Illori

uninstall botscout and it should fix the issue.

Are you sure about the mods? Your error suggests you have Stop Forum Spam installed.

EDIT: I mean botscout... follow Illori's advice above. Nice one Illori.

Hi, Do you for me to uninstall Botscout? If so where would i do that?

Cheers

Go into your Admin Control Panel and then into Package Manager. Even though you said no mods are installed you'll probably see Botscout listed there as an uninstallable package.

Inside the place indicated there are no such mods installed

I have checked there and there is nothing listed that refers to Botscout. The only things listed there are versions of the forum etc.

Hi, I am unable to attach as there are no means to do it. I have uploaded it to a website and changed the ext to .txt

http://sdsewell.com/register.txt [nofollow]

thanks

It could be your postcount that's preventing you attaching a file...?

Either way, here's your edited Register.php with the botscout code redacted.
