News Box not fading

Hi,
The news box fade out has been working for years and now it has stopped working in Firefox.
In I.E. / Edge fade out is working normally

Is there any thing in the settings in Firefox I can do, or do I need to add some code to the forum.
I am not a PHP programmer so any detailed code if required and where to put it would be much appreciated.

Which version of FF?

Works in FF52 and 55.

The newsfader got a partial rewrite in the 2.0 line to fix browser compatibility issues, the team will not issue fixes for 1.1.x because it is end of life already.

I checked it in 2.0.14, don't currently have a 1.1 install running.  Would be a good idea to upgrade to current version.  Make sure your server is running php 5.4 or higher.
