...I've been a member of the development team and I wouldn't attempt it piecemeal without a really good reason.

Thx for the warning, but i did that:
1- To be completely sure to have no more mixed content errors in HTTPS Pages of my forum;
2- Cause i couldn't install the Pretty URL mod, due to an error on the install process on the old forum(with a fresh install, i could install that mod without any error message).
3- I didn't want to loose Topics, Posts, Registered Users, etc... installing a new Forum.

Arantor

...I don't know why you think a fresh install would have been needed. It's always possible to fix what you already have assuming you have complete backups, without having to tear the database apart.

I had only one backup of the Old Forum, the most recent and i tried already uninstalling the old mods to find what was causing the problems i said before, but i couldn't do that cause i got error messages uninstalling those mods.
The other choice, was to manually modify the files and uninstall in this way the mod, but for me the risk of a failure was even higher then importing few tables in a new database.
In the end, i was forced to make a fresh install to solve the problem.

And, not less important, i could not find any mod that could fix the problem related the mixed content error.
Instead, Wordpress CMS has a specific Plugin called "SSL Insecure Content Fixer", which solves this problem easily, without any polemic.

Arantor

And, not less important, the people who are fully capable of writing such a mod point blank refuse to write a mod because 1) it slows your site down to do it, 2) they want all the mods to get their act together and upgrade already and 3) don't want to have to deal with the annoying 'but your mod broke my site' attitude that users have.

Such a mod would probably take me a couple of hours to write, and many more hours wasted in dealing with people who don't read instructions.

I understand what you're saying, but i can assure that the plugin "SSL Insecure Content Fixer" has many positive reviewes, most are 5 stars (126).
This means that this plugin is usefull and is used by the community (100.000+ installations) and the problem related to the web server performance, can be solved Optimizing the plugin (for example, you can choose different levels of integration: "Simple" "Content" "Turned Off", etc...).

Arantor

I doubt you understand what I'm saying, because WP's plugin system is vastly different to SMF's. To achieve what would be required in SMF is much harder to do correctly - and there is literally no way it can work with mods (and even then it won't necessarily work 100% correctly because of the different ways mods work) without hurting performance. It's physically not possible - I'm only an ex-member of the dev team, I wouldn't possibly understand the consequences or anything.

K Professor!
I'm not a developer or programmer and if you say that it's not possible in any way to create a similar mod without hurting server performance, i don't say anything :)
But, not less important, SMF is fully compatible with SSL and PHP 7.0 with the 2.0.14 update, which was released only on May 2017, so i hope in the future there will be a mod to fix insecure SSL content.
PS: I didn't say that the Wordpress Plugin isn't impacting Server Performance (because it does indeed), but i said the server performance will vary depending on the integration level you choose, Optimizing the plugin in this way, maybe you understand now what i said before.

Arantor

I doubt there will be such a mod, because there's only a handful of people that have the kind of skill to do it, and in reality people just fixing mods would be better.

even if you started over with fresh files, you can still use the existing database without touching what already exists. it is always better to ask here before you do because many of us providing support may know more about what is going wrong then you do and can advise you correctly what needs to be done.

I tried already to use the old database in a new install process, but all i got, was a blank screen after the restore process was complete.
In that moment, i got triggered (after trying to delete old mods and restoring old database in a new forum), and decided to start from the scratch trying to import only few tables.
But anyway, thank you for the support :)

I just have only one thought: i get this Yellow Warning only when navigating with Chrome Browser (not with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer): "Mixed Content: The page at 'https://www.whitephoenix.tk/forum/'; was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://error.hostinger.eu/?';. This content should also be served over HTTPS."
Should i ignore it?
Ps: I also get this warning only when using the Wrap Theme.

In index.template.php for that theme:

Code (Find) Select
"https://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"

Code (Replace) Select
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"

Thank you for the help.
I did what you suggested, but i'm still getting that Yellow warning, (i cleared browser cookies and server cache also).
I have attached a copy of index.template.php file, updated with the changes.

The file you attached does not contain the change I advised.

Can you be more specific please?
I modified this line of code:
echo '<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "https://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Is it correct?

Shambles

That's the line, yes, but you didn't change the https to http. Try doing that.

Done, changed https to http, uploaded the file, but still nothing, i continue to see that annoying warning.

your host is hostinger.eu right? check your server error log for a missing image error and fix the missing image. that is what is causing this to happen.

My host is hostinger.it, right. The problem is that i see this error on Chrome, only when using the Wrap Theme, should i still contact the hosting company for more information?
I tried to copy and paste the link http://www.hostinger.it/errore_404 in my browser and the page is displaying correctly in https also (don't know if this is relevant or not).
