Transferred files as suggested with Binary -still no images

Within Godaddy we upgraded from Linux Deluxe Hosting to C-Panel and lost stored images and avatars on two forums.

Was able fix the photos on the one site (RustyBowtie.com) with SMF 2.0.14 by transferring files as suggested with Binary..that site is now 100%.

However the other one (3500HD.com SMF 1.1.21) will not display previous images/avatars.  Did the same steps transferring the files with Binary, but nothing is happening. Went in the the file manager > attachment folder and unable to open them with preview. As mentioned the problem site is running on SMF 1.1.21 version...should that make any difference?

Is the previous forum still running?  Attachments display correctly?  Are you using FileZilla to download/upload the files?
