Update SMF 1.1.21 to 2.0.14
« on: October 26, 2017, 01:43:50 PM »
Hi everyone!

I have bought a forum with the SMF version 1.1.21 and I have made the upgrade to 2.0.14.
The upgrade seems to be successful, but I get this error:
Unknown column 'c.cat_order' in 'field list'
File: /var/www/vhosts/coding4you.de/httpdocs/Sources/Subs-Boards.php
Line: 1047

I don't know what to do know. :(

Thanks!!!

How did you make the upgrade exactly?

I have load the large upgrade SMF 2.0.14.

I uploaded the files. I got a database connection error, so I run repair_settings.php and after the repair upgrade.php. Everything was fine but after the upgrade I got the error.

That doesn't sound like you actually ran upgrade.php because that should have done the conversion for you and made cat_order.

the upgrade I have started and ran through. an error was reported only because of the language pack.

@illori Do you mean the sql and php version?

Your forum is working fine in 1.1.21.  You should not lose the database connection when you upload upgrade package and run upgrade.php.  If you can pm FTP access (server/username/password) I'll have a look.

If it's working fine in 1.1.21, that means the upgrade process could not have been run.

Unless backups were restored (some people actually do back up).  Bet OP uploaded install package first and overwrote Settings.php.

Looks like initially he got db connection error, which means db credentials were lost.  To get to upgrade.php, upgrade package would have had to be uploaded.  At that point anything could have happened, causing unknown column error.  But forum is running in 1.1.21, so no harm done (so far).  Appears to be a clean install, upgrade should be no problem.

I have made a clean install, but the same error was shown.

Now I installed the version 1.1.21 new and load the db backup.

Ok, up and running in 2.0.14.  upgrade.php ran normally.  You'll need to change default theme to Curve.  Access forum with this link.  Check everything.  Will be back on tonight.
