I know to copy all my text before posting with an attachment  :)
I do this as a matter of habit anywhere I type text on the web

But 100's of my forum users do not do this and are not expecting all their text to be deleted if an attachment ends up being too large.
I understand their frustration

Is there a way to prevent my SMF forum from losing all the typed text when an attachment is too large?

I think there was an option to enable saving posts when using the back button, but not sure if it solves your problem. Could take a look into the Drafts mod as well.

Hmmm, ok guys

I think I will pass on the drafts mods

I added some text to the Attach File text in Post.english.php - line 93 in the file
I created a post on my forum to give everyone a heads up

$txt['attach'] = 'Attach File - <font color="red">Please copy all your text first</font>';

It looks like this

Marking solved then. If you have any other questions regarding this topic, by all means, mark this unsolved and let us know. :)
DO NOT pm me for support!

Well, it's not really solved
Just a band aid has been applied

But I will mark solved anyway.
