Hello, recently i've changed the on.ong and off.png (the images at boards to indicate new/not new posts.)

It usually takes a week+ to update the images even if i change them at folders at my host, and yeah it did change after kinda 1 week. But then i decided to change it back to default and it didn't changed back yet... i guess there's some kind of cache or something?

Second problem i am having is, somehow these things show up: https://puu.sh/yFNgx/5566e3681a.png https://puu.sh/yFNhy/70f9de3082.png

The blank images, i don't know how did they appear. I did not do any changes to the code at all. I checked via inspect element and it was pointing to: https://puu.sh/yFNqU/51fad2a24f.png
However this file never existed, i even checked theme's fresh install folder and there wasn't this file.
That image shows only if the user posting has no avatar, if they have an avatar it shows up.

I'll highly appreciate any kind of help.

sounds like your host may have a cache...  talk to them

As for the abm_avatar -- that's from a mod...  the mod should have added the default image for the avatar. If it didn't look in the m od package, grab the image file, and put it on your server in the right place.

I am extremely sorry for posting in wrong section...

EDIT: I've a cache folder in my smf directory, could that be the issue?
EDIT2: I've placed the image file in the directory, its still blank image.

Deaks

the SMF cache would not cause a week to wait for the image to change.  Do other members see the change?  have you tried hard refreshing the page?  have you visited the image directly on your theme to see what that is showing? have you tried hard refreshing the direct image to see if it shows new one?

No, other members don't either, I obviously refresh the page whenever I visit the site, yes it does show correct image in directory, it does show in dir but not on forum.

Ok, after placing the file and clearing all the cache manually it works fine for those who have no avatar, or have avatar from the forum gallery itself, however it does not for those who use an url for their avatar, e.g: https://imgur.com/a/9u7Kv

Why is it searching in /avatars if the avatar is specified with a url.

Gwenwyfar

A "hard refresh" is different than refreshing the page, as it resets some of the cache. In most browsers this is with Ctrl + F5.

You either have or had an avatar mod installed, that's the most likely cause of the problem.

@post above: That fixed, however the problem in quote still persists.
