I just went through this with Godaddy: they had changed the db server on me without notification.

A quick look into the "Code Examples" link on the Hosting / Databases / MySQL page within Godaddy provided me with the correct Db hostname. Copy / pasted that into Settings.php, saved it and BAM! back up live.

Thanks as always to the folks who maintain this BBS and the coders who share help.
