Unable to update to 2.0.15 from 2.0.14

I'm Unable to update to 2.0.15 from 2.0.14.

1. In admin center: I see: You are unable to connect to simplemachines.org's latest news file.

2. Version Information:
Forum version: SMF 2.0.14
Current SMF version: [object HTMLElement]

3. I upload the new version (smf_2-0-15_upgrade.zip), but when I go to browse the packages it does not show up. I tried uploading the .tar.gz version, as well as an unzipped version to the packages folder. Tried permissions of 755 and 777.

As a result of these shenanigans I can not update my forum! Argh. Help?

You do not want the upgrade zip if you are going from 2.0.14 to 2.0.15. If the package to patch to 2.0.15 is not in your package manager, you can download the patch here- https://custom.simplemachines.org/upgrades/

I just smacked myself in the head for being dense. Good Grief. Thank you.

I did the patch, and indeed the SMF 2.0.15 shows in the footer.

However, the forum still gives me this message: You are unable to connect to simplemachines.org's latest news file.
And Current SMF version: [object HTMLElement].

I've searched for an answer for this, but perhaps, I need to bonk myself on the head again?
