I'm getting same thing on clean 2.0.15 test install, running proxy.php from upgrade package.  Nothing in server log.

I am currently using the same proxy.php and it's working just fine ( apart from the first load failing issue.. )

Edit:
Also tested the url in question, and it's working for me, so this is something server specific I'm guessing.

My test install is running in http, not https, if that makes a difference?

Well, yes - The proxy is meant to force https, and many server setups may completely refuse to serve https if they aren't properly configured for it.

So proxy is blocking http images trying to load to http install?  Shouldn't the code allow for that?

If you get a 500 error it's another kind of issue, probably related to either CURL or the access rights to the cache directory (like PHP can't write file to disk and crash attempting to do it).

Not getting any errors, page displays normally, nothing in forum or server error logs.

Split. As far as I understand you do not actually have a problem. It is working as it is supposed to AFAIK.
Solution: Turn off the proxy.

Um, I'm not actually having a problem, normally have proxy disabled.  I've replicated brynn's problem, only difference she's running https and my test install is in http.

OK, still this made following the topic a little difficult, because half of the posts were about you trying to replicate something you can not replicate running http.

Well, if you say so.  I'd delete this topic, as it makes no sense out of context.
