Question on upgrading / hooks

Just two questions - my apologies in advance if this has been answered already somewhere (I did some searching but didn't find an answer):

1. Can a forum using 1.1.21 be upgraded straight to 2.1, once it's released?

and

2. Is there a preliminary list of hooks that will be available in 2.1? I'd like an idea so I may start to port some custom modifications ahead of time.

a count file to get a better overview.

about 1 in my eyes a way which could only run in many issues,

He or she means that while it MAY be technically possible, you would be likely to run into MANY problems.

Personally I believe the best way would be to upgrade your existing forum through to 2.0.15, and get everything working there in preparation for a future update to 2.1
