Members (including me) on my site v-strom.co.uk are experiencing a lag when making new posts. This seems to be only when using Google Chrome but the problem isn't consistent.

Basically, when a user opens a new post window and types the text takes a while to catch up with the keying. Also, the site can be slow to scroll.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

What was the latest change that was done to the forum before this started to happen? Did you install any mod for ex?

If you have not made any changes in the forum ... Do you mark some type of error in the error logs? although it can be something server side that small lag to meet the requests made by its users. Does your host know there was a change these last times?

Thanks for the suggestions but why would the problem only be apparent using Chrome?

Chrome has a lot of ram consumption and can make some pages slow down but it's more of the hardware. We should see what opinion someone else has experienced a similar problem ...

Users are reporting similar findings.

Win 10 Version 64.0.3282.186 (Official Build) (64-bit) and some 32bit versions.

All experience the lag. They open IE or Edge and the issue disappears?

Now I want to know about several browsers without problem, to be sure is something from the host side but it does not mark anything ... Will the connection limit be simultaneous? The one that is not constant can be at times this at full capacity with the subject of the requests ... you should ask your host if you notice something strange

Not wanting to do double post but not being able to edit mine from above ... I did not want to make public the link to your site but I pass it to MP and the errors mark are:

Failed loading <script> with fountain "https://*****/Themes/default/Highslide/highslide.dutch-utf8.js".       forum:53
Failed loading <script> with fountain "https://*****/analytics/piwik.js".      forum:1
Failed loading <script> with fountain "https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-4493949-1".       forum:123
Source map error: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data
Resource URL: https://******//Themes/***/css/bootstrap.min.css?fin20
Font map URL: bootstrap.min.css.map

That may be why you are having these problems, there is evaluating the issue you are using and making the necessary corrections.

Thanks for the reply but I am not sure what you are showing me?

We just went through this. We had custom emojis set up. Disabling them seems to have fixed the issue

The thing is, we have always had custom emoji's, I can't understand why Chrome is misbehaving now.

TheEngineer

So have we. I don't have an explanation for it either. It just seems to have been the problem. Give it a shot and see if it helps.

When reading more times there may be some things that could not be loaded correctly, presenting a delay in the publication of the same, the reason is that the article is due to a Chrome update (the last updates of Chrome were many).

Here is my thread on the same subject:

You must also understand where you are staying and the applications used are constantly updated making each particular case ... you can see several reasons for that "slowness".

The latest release of Chrome has completely cured this issue for all users.
