Stuck in converting phpbb with phpbb2 converter at converting ranks

I try to convert a phpbb SEO 3.0.12 to SMF.
I have a local phpMyAdmin database for phpbb and one for SMF. SMF is installed on a virtual server with Mamp Pro. The data from the phpbb forum is in the local database.
I was able to install SMF without errors and when I start converting it starts and gets stuck at "Converting ranks".
Any ideas what the problem might be for that? I had it running over night.
