Hi,

Any reason why our forums aren accepting the Youtube embedding any more. We put the link without the S on https but there's nothing to be seen and an error "no longer available"

SMF version 1.1.21

If it's a widescreen clip, try this.

Some YouTube Video

If it's a standard clip, try this.

Some YouTube Video

Basically, add #ws at the end of the link if it's widescreen or just # if it's standard.

Thanks, that took off the no longer available -error but the video is still not visible.

Testing if the code works here:

EDIT.. looks like it's blocked..

What mod are you using to embed YouTube videos?

Hi,

My friend think it's this one:
Aeva ~ Auto-Embed Video & Audio.

Googled it a bit and stumbled accross this and the last post:
https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=200401.716

So this mod isnt suggested any more? Could you recommend us another one?

I think the previous version (SMF 1.1.x) of my forum also had this mod. I wasn't an admin back then, so I can't be sure, but based on the description (auto embed), it should be this one.

I've updated the forum since then, I'm using SMF 2.0.15 now, so I can't recommend any mod for 1.1.x. Besides, most mods that offer this capability for 1.1.x are abandoned as projects. There are a lot more to choose from for the 2.0.x branch and are still actively developed and maintained.

What I would recommend is that you update the forum software. The development and maintenance of the 1.1.x branch is abandoned.
