sorry I am not sure which files I should use to upgrade

I had a look at this page:

https://download.simplemachines.org/

and cannot see anything suitable.

The last time (a long time ago...) that I was trying to upgrade was to 2.0.6 and I was getting errors with some mods so I did not go ahead.

Thanks

Well, you can update your forum one patch at a time through the Package Manager in your Admin Panel.

DO NOT pm me for support!

here we go...some errors...it's a test copy, should I go ahead?

Just like with any mod, if you have errors in the installation, then you have to manually make those changes

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

That is where the package parser comes in handy. It tells you exactly what changes to make, where and in what files.

It can be a bit tricky to update if you run into some conflicting edits (when a mod edits the same file and line as another mod or upgrade patch). Here is a wiki article about how to fix it if you want to give it a go yourself: https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Error_in_mod_installation

Make sure you backup your entire SMF directory structure before touching anything. https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Backup

If you want someone to take care of this for you we have a Help Wanted board just for this. You can post a FREE or PAID request. That can be found here: https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=50.0

Let us know if you have any questions along the way. We are here to help.
