about ur problem

about child count

1> login with admin username and password

3> Click on settings
4> mark Count child's posts in parent's totals

Yea when I marked it, I can see child's posts in parent's total but only for first generation child. I cannot see child's child's child's posts. I want to see all of the children's posts total number on home page. How can I do that?

Because I have no post on parent, also no post on child, I have posts on child's child. But someone who look home page, he sees 0 post 0 topic.

Kindred

that is absolutely correct and absolutely by design.

getting recent topics is a very "expensive" query in terms of database overhead. SMF purposefully limits the query to only one layer deep.
If you have so many layers of empty board, it suggests that you should actually improve your structure rather than change the system itself.

That being said, there was a mod, at one point, that would disable the limit...    but I can't remember what it was called
