OK, i'm old and not techie like you guys but I don's SEE the link discussed here. I installed a new, clean, latest SMF (version 15). I uploaded and extracted my backup sql into the folder......nothing. What am I doing wrong or not doing at all? I need my members and posts back - where do I find them and upload them. I'm sorry, but I've spent days working on this for nothing. Mine was fine until I had GoDaddy install SSL on the website so we could continue to process memberships without doubts creeping in.

Thank you.......I'll see if I can figure it out. I have installed the new SMF to a different folder....if I try to restore from phpmyadmin, will I be able to direct it to the new folder? The old info is still insitu in the old folder, but once the SSL was installed, that forum no longer worked.

in what way does it not work? might be easier to fix what you have then start over with moving things.

Look here   https://www.clanthompson.org/CTF/    It's lost all it's structure and I'm administrator but can't login. It shows the https but doesn't have the 'lock' and says it's not totally secured. Godaddy is no help figuring the problem out.  The new SMF looks great, but I can't get the contacts/posts into it. I have over 600 contacts with logins :(

Looking at your link and right-clicking the page (selecting "view source") shows all your internal pointers are still http not https.

Use this tool to change all the values:

What is repair_settings.php?

librarymary

No luck....... :(   I see the file in the same folder as the Setting.php is, but this is what I get:

Not Found
The requested URL /CTF/repair_settings.php. was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Did it again and got it to come up.....reading.....

I think you typed it wrong in your browser.

Nevermind, I ran it for you. Take a look now.

Don't forget to delete that file.

I removed the file for you.

You're welcome.

OMG........THANK YOU! I was struggling through the list of recommendations not knowing what many of them were. You are truly a Godsend to me. I will send out to the contacts now and let them know it's fixed through the kindness of a stranger.  :)
