Curiosity, who is using 2.1 Live?

No need to post your site, just want to see how many are actually running the beta version live. My guess would be most likely a lot, and if so what kind of traffic and number of members do you have? vbulletin used to run beta and called it gold when it really wasn't. When an exploit was discovered, they'd issue patches and that was constant.

Only ran 2.1 for testing so far but it seems to be ticking over okay. Haven't seen any major issues with it yet. The new alerts system is pretty nice.

As a test site you're not actually opening it up to registration but are running live on the web?

Arantor

The site in question has much code built on top of 2.1, so much so that it can't really be called 2.1 any more. But the site isn't ready for go live yet and is baby-sat by one of the former 2.1 dev team.

I know Bigguy has a 2.1 "production" site.

Gwenwyfar

If by live you mean not on localhost then yes. It is only a test zone however.

Your's or do you and Justyne run the same site(s)?

@Arantor, I have seen Bigguys site. Thank you

Is there a 2.1 feature set guide anywhere which would provide details as to what specifically has been added to that version that is different than the  feature set in 2.0.15. There's a lot of talk about mods having been added as default features to 2.1 and no longer needing actual specific mods for specific functionality.

Arantor

Justyne and I run the heavily modded site. There are literally tens of thousands of changed lines of code, and it has a DzinerStudio theme ported over to it from the 2.0 version.

It is my own site. I run the latest git version on it for testing. It will eventually be replaced with a heavily modified version of my own, but it is an entirely separate project from Arantor and Justyne's and I'm waiting for the final 2.1 version to begin.

We're just nuts... Arantor's rewritten half the code and we might end up replacing the rest too before we're done. Specialist use case that's complicated.

I know I'm rewriting all templates/css and adding many new features to source but other than that I'm not going that far

The "forum" part of the site will be pretty standard other than some minor mods, it is everything else that will require new features integrated with SMF.

Might? ;D

Oh, I also just remembered Kindred has a 2.1 test site that's mostly there for trying to break the features in it but I don't remember what the URL is right now.

I've seen you get busy with theme commits to 2.1. Big cleanup job underway it seems.

Kindred

I actually took it down last month pending a reinstall when I have the time. :)

it'll probably be back up in July.

Oldiesmann was running one in his site too, but he may not be updating it anymore.

Yep. So long as RL allows the time to do all that is planned :) I've only started getting some back and it looks like it may all fly out of the window at any time. One of those "everything in your life suddenly changing" periods, but at least it's all mostly good news :D

Just installed it today on a test domain. I could share the link if anybody's interested ;).

You could always install one yourself on a test site and see what it does.
