You could always install one yourself on a test site and see what it does.

Definitely gonna do that at some point, just can't atm.

Why not?

There's literally nothing stopping you do it. There's free hosts you can use, or you can add subdomains or similar to existing accounts or even spin up a local web server on your computer to try it out.

What is the cookies notification you have Steve? Is it a mod or is that exclusive to 2.1? Once you click OK does it go away for the visitor or is it constant? Thanks!

PS. I just checked your/bigguy's site on my phone. The portal you're using isn't responsive. I'm on a Samsung S8.

I am, do share please.

Still interested? I mean, since there were others who posted live 2.1 sites ;).

If you want to poke around, I have multiple 2.1 test sites.

Vanilla 2.1 - just a straightup install:
https://shawnbulen.com/VAN21

My forum upgraded to 2.1 for testing purposes, including our most popular mods (SAVE):

An example topic:

Both sites use SMF 2.1 beta 4 current code as of today.  I just tested a round of installs & upgrades.

Since I do a lot of tests of installs & upgrades, the above links will be erratic over time...

This discusses the live SMF 2.1 powered site that I run.

Don't try this at home, kids. ;)
I promise you nothing.

I just noticed Sesquipedalian's post about his site.

Yes, it's very nicely customized and it looks great ;). Great job ;).

But, IMO, that doesn't look like a forum... sorry, but it looks more like a blog to me.

That's custom the cookie notification. As for responsive....not much on the site is right now, lol, with all the edits I have done.

Almost all of my traffic is on a mobile and ultimately that is what its geared toward anyway, mainly because it's 95% maps for traveling. That's why I'm really anxious to get that curve2 theme. The menu and the fully responsive design is what I'm after.

The custom theme is intentionally designed to blur the line between forum and blog. Certain boards are designated to function in a blog-like fashion (these are the ones whose topics are featured most prominently on the front page), while others function in a more typically forum-like fashion. The UI overall sits somewhere in the middle in order to maintain a consistent user experience.
I promise you nothing.

There is a responsive Curve mod for 2.0.x.

https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=4040

I am using it but as already noted by others who are actively involved in the management of SMF 2.1, "Curve2" is a complete fully responsive theme. Where as default curve isn't and the responsive curve mod also does not handle all fully responsive functionality. The menu for responsive curve is not an actual responsive mobile menu.
