emulating old smf version for mod instalation

i wanna ask a question
if i follow a tutorial i found here on smf to emulate an older version of smf
so as to be able to install a mod for that version.

what if i want to install another mod in the future for my original version of smf
hope there will no be problem

You just revert the changes of the emulation. The mod you previously installed will remain working. The emulation is just for the mod install.
