2.0.5 Image Resizing on Portal?

Hello I recently launched a gaming site based on the

SMF 2.0.5
Simple Portal 2.3.7

In the main body of the website we are posting news articles with pictures & the portal keeps re-sizing them down to very small pictures

I have looked around and not sure why this is happening or how to keep the ratio or increase the size

Why would you launch a site based on a 5 year old version of SMF? You're 10 versions behind. There are many security patches since 2.0.5. The current stable version is 2.0.15. I would suggest you do an upgrade, then deal with the problem at hand.
