I want to be able to allow users who have reached 1k posts to have extra permissions. how can I do this?

Arantor

Turn on permissions for post counts in the permissions > settings area.

However this is usually a bad idea in practice. Arbitrary milestones for contributions don't guarantee the extra powers won't be abused (as Discourse learned, eventually)

CyanGaming

btw I have a question, I have a lot of post ranks, so it'd be annoying to have to change this for all of them but, do permissions from lower post ranks apply to the higher ones?

Arantor

No, they don't. And remember, permissions also apply from whatever other groups the users have.

CyanGaming

ah yeah, that part is fine, so I just gotta add the 1 permission and not worry about adding permissions that they would already have as regular members

Arantor

Out of interest, which permission is it?

Arantor

Huh, that's probably the only permission that can't readily be abused as long as it's for their own accounts. But even that can be abused if people decide to put profanity in there, heh.
