The show new replies to your posts link crashes whenever there are none to display.

This has only started happening since my post-server-crash rebuild.

Any ideas how to fix it?

What file has the actual display of this?

Fastest workaround seems to be removing the link.

Where is my.cnf, and what do you mean by reboot mysql? (Out of my depth here)

Which file displays 'Show new replies to your posts', and what code do I delete in order to remove it?

Also, how do I add a text message after 'Show unread posts since last visit', so people will see it and use it more?

if you dont have a dedicated or VPS server, you cant do that. you need to ask your host to fix it.

Please do not open multiple topics on the same issue...

topics merged.

And removing the link won't work, because there are several different ways to get to that screen....    not to mention direct.

Solve the issue, not the trigger

I don't know what this is or what you do with it. Can someone provide some actual instructions please?

Host says they cant do this on a shared server.

I've given instructions so they can generate the error themselves.

It seriously sounds like you need a new host who has a clue

I'm beginning to think the same thing.

How does one find out here who the best hosts are?

I still want to go with my main request. Where is the link displayed from, so I can remove it, if only temporarily?

thanks, bookmarked, but well down the list of things to do. Forum is too new to move it again.

I am going nuts with the number of reports of this error message.

Doesn't anyone know where the display of the link is in the code or the default theme? For now, all I want to do is rip that link out so people stop clicking on it.

Also, I cant understand why a coder cant recommend a code fix for when it returns nothing.
