Google compatibility

Just a general question re Google indexing
Is the html of SMF complimentary to Google indexing stuff like posts, date, authors, categories etc - such that it can start building links and more pertinent info in search results.
I've already seen that it's listing direct links to some forums under the search result but the real question is do I need to do more or is there a plugin for such?

Google will eventually crawl your site....   well, the parts of the site visible to guests - without any additional mods.

You can add a sitemap mod to make things easier for google (using google webmaster tools) but it's not necessary...
