smf and php 7.2

Hi,

I read somewhere here that SMF 2.0.x isn't compatible with PHP 7.2 yet. My host will have only the option to choose between 7.2 and 7.3 in a few days... Is there anything I can do in order to keep using smf without any issue?

SMF 2.0.x will work on php 7.2 just throws lots of warnings about create_function

I do wonder how many hosts now that 5.6 goes EOL in 2 days time and 7.1 has moved over to "Active support" (which afaik is just critical security issues only) will some hosts decide on axing all PHP versions older than at least 7.0 (which is EOL anyway)
