FFS. My mum is 84 and has an Apple laptop, iPad and iPhone. She runs the music from her iPad via Bluetooth to her car's speakers when she's driving. Using basic modern technology is really not that hard. Plenty of older people do it.

OTOH my wife is 60 and hopeless at tech stuff.
Age has nothing to do with it.

I can not wait till 2038, I'm 81 now.
You're 81 years old? Wow. My respects to you sir. I can't picture a 81 year old knowing how to use a computer and stuff like that.

Yes I know this is off topic, it's just this once :) (mods how strict are you about going off topic?)

Thanks. I know people in their 90's who still work on computers, use cell phones, and still have a beer now and then..

Yep... My mother lived with two nerds for almost decades and refused to ever touch anything remotely technological or learn about new things. Finally, at her 50s, she was mildly convinced with a wii and later forced onto a smartphone, which she now uses gladly. Now she stopped saying "this stuff is too hard for me" and so on.

If you don't want to, you don't learn anything.

So true, if you refuse to even try, you never know what you missed.. My wife is 5 years older than me, and if the radio doesn't have knobs on it she can't use it..

I never touched a computer until I retired. I actually picked up on it from my boss, she taught me some simple stuff, got hooked, been learning ever since..

Just wish I had learned some coding, so I could help get smf 2.1 out..

So @ Arantor, when is 2.1 coming out..

It looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer for RC2. I see that an old issue has been reopened.

Looks great but noticed that the latest version of Ezportal isn't compatable with the release candidate version of 2.1

You should direct all your questions about ezPortal compatibility in this thread ;).

Noticed that a few things are missing in this RC.
The Karma thing has gone and big features are missing in the full version.

Yeah, Karma has been replaced with likes. But what are the big features you are missing?
