Member posts option displays posts from hidden boards - bug?

So, a board is set so only mods can see it / have access.

If a post made in the board is listed as "last post" then clicking on it displays it, to any member.

If the posts link in a mods profile is clicked, their posts to boards hidden from members and restricted to mods only is still listed and visible.

Is this a settings error? Or a bug?

which version of SMF? what mods are installed?

SMF 2.0.15

No mods to main forum, just add-ons

Addons and mods are the same thing. What do you have installed?

Also, how exactly are you testing this?

Tested by looking in as basic member, also reported by others.

what do you mean by basic member? does that member have access to the board where these posts are made?

Basic member = ordinary user with ordinary access / privileges

No. The board is set entirely as mod access only.

At present a basic member cannot see the board. but can see posts in it if they use either the user posts option on a mods profile page, or the last post link if the last post was made in that board.

It seems silly to have the option to make a board invisible and restrict access to it, if every post made to it can be seen via the methods listed.

by default what you are explaining does not happen, so either you modified something or something is not configured correctly.

Thanks. it seems that in the recent change of servers something got corrupted. Not entirely sure what, but issue now fixed.

Having you confirm that "by default what you are explaining does not happen" helped to narrow down possibilities.

Thank you.
