Format editor and smileys are gone!

In my quick reply and when you either start a new thread or click reply, the format editor and BBC code buttons, along with all smileys have disappeared.

Has anyone seen something like this before? I have attached a picture below.

I have done NO mods to any files in my software and it is not just a User Profile issue - all of our users are seeing this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have never seen this at all. Mine works fine. I wish I could provide some answers for you.

Does your browsers inspection console show any conflicts, eg, javascript clashes?

djoos5

It does not.

I have another board running the same SMF software and it is fine - although it is on a different server.

Shambles

Presumably you're running the RC1 version of 2.1?

No - I am running RC3 on both sites.

There is no RC3, did you means Beta 3?

Try using the official RC1

djoos5

I just finished my upgrade to RC1 and they are still missing.

Anyone have an idea of what to try?

Do you have a test account we can use?

Isn't there an option that disables the toolbar inside the admin settings? I remember is being in themes

So you did the full upgrade to the release version of RC1 ?
Copying the new files over the old, running upgrade.php etc? Usual stuff.

i believe that screenshot is from SMF 2.0, the OP is using SMF 2.1.

Hmm, do you have the "Enable bulletin board code (BBC) " setting checked?  If not the editor won't show.

Admin > Features and options > Bulletin Board Code >>  Enable bulletin board code (BBC)

Shouldn't 2.1 have a similar option?

lurk, open the posting window with js disabled and compare to op's screenshot.

Hey Everyone, sorry for the delays in replying back to you all. I did not have the notifications box checked on this topic and I forgot to return to it to see if there was help provided.

I do not have a test account active, but I can create one if you are still available to help - and hello from Columbus!  ;D

Under my Admin - yes, the BBC is enabled and under my user profile I have the Use Full Editor toolbar in quick reply checked, as well.

I run my board in Google Chrome - I am not sure if JS is ever enabled unless requested.

To add to the mystery, here is a new issue that just came up when I went to search my database... (image attached).

I chose and downloaded the RC 1 Large upgrade. Do you think I should download the Full Install and write over all of the files?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

djoos5

Can I upload a brand new copy of SMF into a folder (named as the old) and tie my old database to it?
