how can i get this on the front page of my site like it is on here?

You need to edit calendar settings in admin panel (Admin pamel => Forum => Calendar => Calendar settings):

So where you have "show birthdays" etc, you have it set to "in calendar only", you need to change those to not be "in calendar only", like the previous screenshot.

Your site has no birthdays, no calendar events and no holidays in the next 7 days, therefore nothing to show...
