DragonLady

(edited to fix version number)

Everything seemed to go smoothly, and all seemed well at first, then I realized my error log is filling up with these messages:

QuoteThe selected search API the forum is using is out of date - falling back to standard search. Please check file SearchAPI-Standard.php.

I switched to using the full text index, but now I'm getting the same error regarding it:

QuoteThe selected search API the forum is using is out of date - falling back to standard search. Please check file SearchAPI-Fulltext.php.

I'm sure I'm using the latest version of both files.

Any suggestions?

Sorry; you're correct.  2.1, and I'm off to read your link now.

DragonLady

Okay; did that...now I have all kinds of issues. :( I'll be back 'round when I can sanely describe what is happening.

DragonLady

I'm getting all kinds of strange issues now, even though I only changed the one file.

The main page opens okay, as does the admin panel.  But I want to try to post a new topic, everything crashes with this error:

Quote
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare search_api::$version_compatible in /home/artisans/public_html/sg/Sources/Class-SearchAPI.php on line 153

The error log in the admin panel says:

QuoteType of error: Critical

The path to the attachments directory () is incorrect. Please correct it in the attachment settings area of your admin panel.

But I didn't change the path...or anything else, other than that one little line of code.

SychO

Check the path nonetheless in the Attachments and Avatars > Attachement settings > [Manage attachment directories]
and make sure they are correct.

DragonLady

Okay; I'll do that.

I went back to the original file, without the changes.

But now...when I try to start a new topic, I get an error I wasn't getting before:

QuoteThe message has the following error or errors that must be corrected before continuing:
The following attachments were found which you had previously attached to another post but not posted. It is advisable that you do not upload any more attachments until these are removed or that post has been submitted.
Click here to remove these attachments.

When I click the link, I'm shown the door:

You don't have permission to access /(your page)/index.php on this server.

Now it insists the directory doesn't exist, and I can't seem to convince it otherwise. :(

Wowza!!!!

I tried to make a new topic, with an attachment, and this is what happened when I hit either "preview" or "post" (don't recall which) in bright red text:

Needless to say, I canceled.

DragonLady

I'm certain the attachments directory and path to it are correct.  I haven't changed them, and they were working fine before the upgrade.

I want to reinstall gallerypro, but I want to make sure everything else is working correctly first.

As always, I appreciate the help I always get here.

Check your paths with repair_settings.php

Usage: Upload this file to root dir of your forum and call from your browser.

I ran that, and all seemed fine.  But...the attachments are giving me the same problems.

I'll try again tonight, when the forum isn't busy and see if I see anything that looks out of place.

DragonLady

Well.... It's saying the attachment directory is okay now, so that's fixed.

But, it still gives me all the other errors.

When I try to reply to a thread, I still get an error:

QuoteThe message has the following error or errors that must be corrected before continuing:

Click here to remove these attachments.

Clicking the link still takes me to a "forbidden" page.

If I go ahead and try to upload another image, I get that same style sheet -the whole thing- in red, and that point I just cancel because I'm afraid to post.

I don't have any draft posts, and have no idea where those attachments it's finding are?

DragonLady

I'm getting two messages on my error log:

Yes.  It didn't seem to give me any trouble upgrading at all.

Could try the Integrity check in the file maintenance, though you might want to take a backup before that.

I'm willing to try just about anything.  I'm completely mystified by these issues.

After I posted, I thought "wait...I did that last night -twice- and supposedly fixed almost 200 errors the first time".

But, I went ahead and did it again, found two errors and fixed them.

Now, all seems to be working again, so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope that everything is running correctly now.  But, I'll be back if this just keeps happening.
