I am confused need help-how to move a sub forum to main

Yesterday my provider moved my domain to the root instead of public_HTML. So i have the old software I want to dump AVCMS in public_html. I spent the last three months configuring SMF in its subforum residing on the root drive. so here is what I currently have :

https://www.roseweb.net  ( the software I want to dump )

https://forum.roseweb.net ( the software I want as www.roseweb.net

The thing I am worried about is loosing files or it not working if I just change the setting files and run the repair php  will that do it?  Thank you

Regarding SMF, no, you will not loose any files or posts by running repair_settings.php ;).
